How do I make money from my investments?

Once you’ve invested in a particular loan, you now have the right to receive part of the payments made to this loan. The borrower of the loan makes payments according to the loan payment schedule which consist of principal, interest and late interest or a combination of the above. When the borrower makes a payment to the loan you will receive part of this payment equal to your investment share in the loan. The repaid amount will be available in your Stikcredit account immediately after receiving the payment. If you’ve invested in multiple loans, you will receive multiple payments according to the payment schedule of each loan.

For example, if you invest 20 EUR in a loan with a remaining principal of 160 EUR, you will own 12.5% of this loan and you will have claim rights on 12.5% of all future loan payments. Every time the borrower makes a payment you will receive 12.5% of it in your account.

What is the forecasted return?

The interest rate offered to investors will vary based on the particular loan’s risk, market and other conditions. Investors can expect to earn up to 18% per annum on their investment.

How is the interest rate calculated?

The interest rate offered to investors for a particular loan is quoted on an annual basis. The interest is calculated on a daily basis based on the amount you’ve invested in loans. The interest is calculated based on the following formula:

Interest rate / 360 x Invested amount x No. days.

What is your rounding methodology?

We round calculations to two decimal places. This applies to interest rate calculation as well as to premium/discount calculations related to transactions performed on the secondary market. For more information on transactions related to the secondary market, head to the Secondary Market tab in our help section.

When calculating the interest, which you should receive on your loan, we round the calculations to the second decimal place. For example, if you invest 200 EUR in a single payment loan at 14.0% annual interest rate for a period of 30 days, at the end of the period you should receive interest amount calculated as follows: 200 * 14.0% * (30 / 360) = 2.333333 EUR. We will round this transaction to 2.33 EUR which is the interest amount that you will receive in your account.

If you make the same investment only this time the interest rate is 14.5% you should receive interest amount calculated as follows: 200 * 14.5% * (30 / 360) = 2.416666 EUR. We will round this transaction to 2.42 EUR which is the amount that you will receive in your account.

Is there a minimum investment amount?

Yes, the minimum investment amount is 10 EUR for a single loan.

Can I cancel my investment?

No. Once you have invested into a loan and confirmed your decision, you will not be able to cancel the investment.

How long is the invested money locked-in?

This will depend on the term of the loan in which you have invested. You will receive your investment back in accordance with the repayment schedule of every individual loan in which you have invested.

What is a buyback guarantee and how does it work?

All loans listed on Stikcredit are protected by a buyback guarantee. The buyback guarantee provides extra security for your investments. What this means is that if a particular loan in which you’ve invested becomes delayed by more than 60 days, the loan originating company will repurchase the loan from you. You will receive back your initial investment plus any accrued interest. The buyback will be executed on the 61st day.

How can I exit my investment?

Investors should be prepared to hold the investment until the maturity of the respective loan. Investors receive regular payments of principal and interest according to the payment schedule of every loan which reduce the total outstanding investment over time and will increase the size.

If you wish to exit your investment before the loan's maturity date, we have developed a secondary market. You can list your investment for sale on the secondary market where another investor will purchase it from you. For more information, visit the Secondary Market help section.

How can I see the income earned from my investments?

You can see a summary of your total income in page Account Summary in your account. Alternatively, you can explore your account movements in more detail from you Account Statement page.

How safe are the investments?

It is Stikcredit’s top priority to design a marketplace which is as safe as possible. However, as with any investments there are some risks involved. Investors need to make an informed decision carefully weighing in all available facts and information. Stikcredit has taken a number of measures to mitigate the risks for the investors as much as possible:

- All loans are guaranteed by a buyback guarantee issued by the lending company. If payment on a loan you’ve invested in is delayed by more than 60 days, the lending company will repurchase the loan from you. You will receive back your initial investment plus any accrued interest.

- All loans are originated from the loan originator's own funds and the loan originator must keep a certain percentage of the loan on its books. This aligns the loan originator’s and investors’ interests. This is also known as “skin in the game”.

What is auto invest?

Auto-invest is a way of automating your investment process. Once you define the parameters of your auto invest strategy and the desired portfolio size, Stikcredit will automatically invest your funds into loans that meet your investment criteria.

- Every time you make a deposit to your account, your active strategies will be executed 15 minutes following the deposit.
- Every night your active strategies will be executed and our algorithms will invest into matching loans.

What is a secondary market?

This is the place where you can list your investment for sale and other investors can purchase it from you. You don’t have to wait for your loan to be repaid, if you want an early exit from your investment you can place it on the secondary market for sale.

If someone buys your investment, you will receive back your outstanding principal immediately. You can also specify if you want to sell your investment at a discount/premium to sell it faster or to earn a higher return.

How to sell my investments on the secondary market?

To sell your investment log in to your account and go to My investments page. You will see that next to each of your active investments there is a button “Sell”. Press it and your investment will be added to your sales basket. You can also sell multiple investments at once by pressing the “Sell all” button.

Press the “Confirm” button in your basket and you’ll be forwarded to the next page where you can set a discount/premium for all or some of the loans you intend to sell.

What is a sale price?

The sale price is the amount of money which you will receive when your investment is sold in full. It is determined by the size of investment you wish to sell and the discount/premium you’ve set for the investment.

For instance, if you wish to sell € 20 at a premium of 10%, the sale price which you will receive is € 22. Alternatively, if you wish to sell € 20 at a discount of 10%, the sale price which you will receive is € 18.

What is a premium/discount?

When you choose to sell your investment on the secondary market you can do it at par, at discount or at premium. The premium/discount is expressed in percent of the outstanding value of the investment.

The premium allows you to sell you investment at a price that is higher than the outstanding value of your investment. For instance, if the outstanding value of your investment is € 20 and you sell it at a 10% premium, you will receive € 22 from the sale, making a € 2 profit.

The discount allows you to sell your investment at a price that is lower than the outstanding value of your investment. For instance, if the outstanding value of your investment is € 20 and you sell it at a 10% discount, you will receive € 18 from the sale, making it more attractive for other investors and exiting the investment more quickly.

How to change the premium/discount?

You can change the premium/discount from this page. You can either set an individual premium/discount for each investment separately or you can apply the same premium/discount to all investments at once by filling in the “Apply discount/premium to all loans” field and pressing the “Apply” button.

How to change the sale price?

You can change the sale price by adjusting the discount/premium at which you wish to sell your investment. You can set a discount as low as -15.0% or a premium as high as +15.0%.

What is your rounding methodology for SM transactions?

We round calculations to two decimal places. This applies to interest rate calculation as well as when calculating the premium/discount price on the loan that you buy or sell on the secondary market.

For example, if you sell 4 EUR of your loan at a premium of 0.1%, the price which you will receive for the loan will be equal to 4 * 100.1% or 4.004 EUR. The transaction will be rounded to 4.00 EUR and you will receive 4.00 EUR as a purchase price. If, however, you sell 5 EUR of your loan at a premium of 0.1%, the sale price of your loan will be equal to 5.005 EUR. The transaction will be rounded to 5.01 EUR and you will receive a 1 cent premium on your loan.

In another example, suppose that you wish to buy a 25 EUR loan on the secondary market at a discount of 0.1%. The price which you will have to pay for the loan is equal to 25 * 99.9% or 24.9750 EUR. The transaction will be rounded to 24.98 EUR which is what you will have to pay to acquire the loan on the secondary market.

Can I delete a loan from the sales list?

If you’ve changed your mind and you don’t want to sell a particular investment in your sales bucket, you can press the “x” button next to it. This will remove the investment from your list and it will not be listed on the secondary market. Alternatively, you can remove all investments by pressing the “Cancel and delete the list” button.

I’ve changed my mind, can I reverse the sale?

Once an investor has purchased your investment on the secondary market, the transaction is not reversible.

However, if you’ve changed your mind and you no longer wish to sell your investments you can take the unsold ones off of the secondary market. To do so go to the My investments page and click the “x” button next to the investments you no longer wish to sell.

What will I receive if my investment is sold?

When you sell an investment on the secondary market you will receive from the buyer the amount of the outstanding investment which was sold plus the premium which you have applied or minus the discount which you have applied. The funds will be available in your wallet immediately.

When will I receive my accrued interest?

When you sell your investment on the secondary market you may have an accrued interest or an accrued late interest - this is the interest, which is owed to you, but it is not yet paid by the borrower.

You will not receive this interest immediately. Instead, you will receive this interest once the borrower has made a payment.

How can I withdraw money from my account?

Can I change the bank account assigned to my Stikcredit account?
